Kimberley Grimes is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working one-on-one and in groups with children, adolescents, and their families. Kim has a profound belief in the inherent strength and propensity for growth of the family. Kim has a long professional history helping youths and families develop effective coping skills, behavioral and emotional resilience, and healthier relationships. Before joining In Step, Kim worked in various settings: foster care, medical communities, outpatient and in-home settings. In addition to her individual psychotherapy work at In Step, Kim leads Stepping Stones Social IQ Development groups, Teen Interpersonal Groups, and Social IQ Development Groups for Teens on the spectrum. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development from Virginia Tech, Kim earned two master’s degrees, one in Social Work and the other in Human and Community Development from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. When she is not treating clients, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.
