Melanie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who greatly enjoys working with children, adolescents, and young adults. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Georgetown University and her Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. Melanie has experience providing individual therapy, group therapy, parent support, and social skills training to clients with a wide range of social and emotional needs. She has worked in a variety of school settings (public, private, and special education) and in a mental health practice. She specializes in working with clients with developmental disabilities including ASD and ADHD. Melanie utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other modalities to help clients manage anxiety, anger, and depression. She takes a playful, strengths-based approach to therapy and empowers her clients to make meaningful changes to improve feelings of self-worth and emotional well-being. In working with children and adolescents with special needs, she believes in the critical importance of increasing independence and preparedness for adulthood. At In Step, Melanie will provide individual and group therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults, focusing on socials skills and the management of anxiety and depression.
