Mary received her undergraduate degree at the University of Massachusetts and her Master’s in Counseling Psychology at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. During her graduate training, Mary found her passion while working with children and families. While still in Spokane, she also became certified in school counseling and worked as a therapist in a partnership program between a mental health agency and a school system. Mary’s prior professional experience included working at a brain injury rehabilitation facility where she was encouraged to pursue her graduate degree in counseling. Having been with In Step for over eleven years, Mary currently enjoys working with individuals, families and groups. She especially loves working with people in groups as she believes groups provide a highly effective environment for skill building, personal growth and healing. Mary has additional training in play therapy, and utilizes this type of therapy for young children. In her free time, Mary loves to read, exercise, travel and spend time with family, friends and her two golden retrievers.
