Improvisation is a spontaneous, fun way for kids to interact with each other without pre-planning or scripting. Improv therapy groups are a safe and stimulating way for kids to build confidence, take social risks, and practice life skills. Improv activities and games offer group members opportunities to tune into each other, give up control, and go with the flow of their peers.
This workshop will be a preview of our upcoming Improv Social Development Group, which is starting this summer. In Step Director, Cathi Cohen, LCSW, CGP, and Mary Shuffleton, LPC, CGP, will lead children aged 9 to 12 through 45 minutes of improvisational games and activities, followed by 30 minutes of discussion and reinforcement of skills. For the final 15 minutes, they will provide feedback to parents.
