As parents, you play a vital role in the social, emotional, and behavioral development of your child. As such, for many of our programs, we require group parent coaching in conjunction with your child’s treatment.
The in-person and virtual parent groups at In Step are led by parenting experts who intimately understand the challenges of being a parent today. Weekly coaching sessions provide easy-to-implement strategies, techniques, and methods that help you feel more in-charge at home. Critical skills like effectively managing meltdowns, setting realistic expectations, giving clear directions, setting loving limits and boundaries, and helping your child solve their own problems are practiced.
Parent groups include the following:
- Stepping Stones
- Virtual Parent IQ
- Teen DBT
DBT Skills
These groups teach individuals coping mechanisms and interpersonal skills to manage emotions effectively. Participants learn mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness to enhance their overall well-being.
Stepping Stones
Stepping Stones is a unique social skills training program for children and their parents that follows a step-by-step approach to help elementary school-age children to make and maintain friends.
Interpersonal Process
These groups for children, teens or adults offer an engaging, supportive space for individuals to share their feelings, thoughts, and experiences with the others, who provide feedback, differing perspectives, and insights.
