Erika is a licensed clinical social worker who received her Bachelors degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech and her Master’s in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. At In Step, Erika supports children, adolescents, and adults through individual, family, and group therapy. Erika primarily works with adolescents who present with a variety of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, maladaptive behaviors, and typically a history of unsuccessful treatments. Erika co-leads In Step’s high school Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills group in addition to adhering to the DBT standard model for individual therapy. In addition to her time at In Step, Erika also works for a mental health hospital serving children, adolescents, and adults through assessments, group therapy, and family work.
